New charity project launched

Charitable funds “Zhyttelyub” and “Caritas of Ukraine” have joined forces with the company “Nova Poshta” to take care of lonely and socially vulnerable grandparents, launching the “Dobadi” project.

The goal of the initiative is to provide adult Ukrainians with charitable food kits. Such care is especially important and relevant right now, when older people hardly leave their homes due to the pandemic.

The mechanics of the project are as follows: the “Zhyttelyub” fund collects funds and buys kits, in turn, Nova Poshta packs and delivers them to cities and villages for free, and “Caritas of Ukraine” delivers grocery kits directly to the addresses of Ba and Di.

“For us, the residents of big cities, this lockdown is much easier than the first one, but there is still a great risk for our lovers of life. And if in big cities the problems of people of the golden age can be solved with the help of foundations and volunteers, then in small towns there is absolutely no one to help them. That’s why we created this project with Caritas of Ukraine and Novaya Poshta – to support and take care of life-loving people in small towns of Ukraine,” says Tina Mykhaylovska, head and co-founder of “Zhyttylyub” BF.

The first 150 care kits have already been delivered to Drohobych, Volnovakha, Kamianskyi, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi and Novovolinsk. The organizers plan to scale the project to the entire country and cover as many towns and villages as possible.

Also, “Caritas of Ukraine” covers the needs of people of the golden age in Volnovas in the first six months of the project.

“The Caritas network in Ukraine is a source of mercy and care, which provides quality and safe care to the most needy citizens in different parts of our country. It is extremely gratifying that this source is constantly replenished with the necessary resources thanks to caring citizens, business representatives and effective cooperation with other foundations and initiatives. We are happy to do good together!”, — Vladyslav Shelokov, Director of Communications and Resource Mobilization of Caritas of Ukraine, shares his impressions.

“We cannot stand aside, because millions of elderly people in all regions of the country are at risk and especially need our care during the pandemic. We call on representatives of Ukrainian business to join the initiative and take any city or village under their care by purchasing 50 food kits for those who need them so much. For every Ukrainian business, this project is an opportunity to show itself as a socially responsible and caring organization. Let’s help together, because there are no other people’s grandparents!”, – urges Inna Popereshniuk, co-founder of New Post.

Only business structures and entrepreneurs can join the project. To participate, it is enough for the enterprise to choose one or more settlements and supply it with food kits for at least three months. The cost of one is 280 hryvnias, and it is enough for a month. The cost of a batch of 50 sets per city is UAH 14,000.

The care kit includes food products for long-term storage: sugar, various cereals and canned goods, sunflower oil, tea and sweets. The approximate weight of the set is up to 5.5 kg.
