We opened the Center in May 2022, when hundreds of thousands of confused people arrived in Kyiv. Some had only a change of clothes and family photos, while others had barely gotten their children out of the hot spot and found themselves with nothing in a large unfamiliar city.
For more than a year, “Enjoying Life: Care” has been helping new Kyiv residents with basic necessities – food, clothing, dishes, home textiles, toys for children, hygiene products, household chemicals, and pet food. Since the Center’s inception, 22,524 people have received help.
In addition to helping with things, together with our partners, we held medical marathons, provided psychological and legal support, invited new Kyiv residents to master classes, excursions, sports and hobbies. We did everything to help them adapt to the city and feel safe and comfortable.
The total amount of assistance provided by the Center in terms of goods and services is almost USD 558 000.
Now the flow of new Kyiv residents to the capital has significantly decreased, so we decided to focus on the social adaptation of those who have arrived. Especially on the new older Kyiv residents. It is most difficult for them to feel at home in an unfamiliar city, to find a social circle and activities for themselves.
