Enjoying Life: House nearby

In the “Enjoying life: House nearby” project, “Enjoying life” foundation brings together people who need help and communities in Kyiv Oblast that need specialists and workers.

We research the needs of communities in Kyiv region for specialists in various professions and look for IDP families with such specialists. Next, we look for a house in the community and for businesses and philanthropists to help buy it.

We develop an individual plan of integration into the community and sign a contract with each family. The family moves into the house, able-bodied family members get jobs, and children go to school or kindergarten.

As of July 2024, we have settled four families from Kherson and Luhansk regions in the territorial community of Medvyn.

IDP families with children, grandparents, or people with disabilities can apply. At least one member of the family must be able to work, with a professional specialty needed by the community or the possibility of retraining.

Also important are:
– experience in farming in the village;
– intention to integrate into community life and stay in it;
– availability of resources for self-sufficiency (payment for utilities, purchase of food and basic necessities);
– commitment to take care of other family members, such as children, the elderly and people with disabilities;
– Willingness to work in the community and run a household;
– willingness to actively participate in community life.
